A Good Day at the Airport

Hello Fellow Daymakers!
 airplane

I had the most incredible Daymaker experience yesterday at SFO (San Fransisco Airport). I was going through security and I always opt out of the new X-ray screening which means I have to have a personal pat down. This decision usually irritates the TSA people. The airport security guard that came to meet me was in such a bad mood. When he asked which of the bins were mine I accidentally bumped his foot. “Stay away from my feet!” he barked. As we were waiting for my other bin a man asked him what time it was. “9:48,” he replied. When the man walked away without saying anything he yelled to the man, “You’re welcome!” and shook his head.

“Oh boy.” I thought, “This is going to be a fun pat down.” After he was done I thanked him for his patience. I then told him that I was a cancer survivor and sensitive to any more radiation in my body and I did not want to wake up any cells, etc. He looked at me with tears in his eyes. “My father died of cancer and you just changed my life and how I see passengers everyday. Thank you!” he said.

We shook hands as we made each others day. What a great day at the airport!

Blessings,
David Wagner
